Overview
Bone cells, also known as osteocytes, are the structural and functional units of bones. They are responsible for the production and maintenance of bone tissues, and help in the absorption of minerals, such as calcium, from the diet. Osteocytes are also involved in the repair of the bone structure when it is damaged and in the production of enzymes that help in bone metabolism. Bone cells play an important role in providing structural support to the body and helping to maintain the body’s mineral balance. They are also crucial for proper growth, development, and repair of bones.
