Overview
Cellular Physiology is the branch of physiology that studies the functional and structural properties of cells and the way they interact with their environment. It is the foundation of all other physiological disciplines, playing a key role in the development and maintenance of life. Its uses range from investigation into the basis of human development and disease, to the development of biomedical engineering and medical technology. Its importance lies in the fact that it helps us understand the workings of our cells and how they may be manipulated for improved health and treatments.
