Biography
Dr. Surjyakanta Rana is a Visiting Scientist at Friedrich Schiller University Jena, Jena, Thüringen, Germany, having completed his PhD at Utkal University. His research focuses on heterogeneous catalysis, nanomaterial synthesis, and organic transformations, with particular expertise in the development of graphene oxide-based catalysts for selective hydrogenation and oxidation reactions, as well as multicomponent reactions under microwave irradiation. Dr. Rana has made significant contributions to the design of bimetallic nanoparticle catalysts, functionalized graphene oxide composites, and layered double hydroxide nanocomposites for environmental and synthetic applications. His most-cited work, "A Concise Review of Multicomponent Reactions Using Novel Heterogeneous Catalysts under Microwave Irradiation" (2023), has been cited 42 times, reflecting the impact of his research on sustainable catalytic methodologies and fine chemical synthesis.
