Overview
Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (MAPs) are a category of plants used for both medicinal and non-medicinal purposes. They possess a wide range of bioactive compounds that can be used to treat a variety of ailments as well as to impart flavor, fragrance and color to food. They also play an important role in the production of essential oils, cosmetics and herbal medicines. The use of MAPs has been documented for centuries, providing evidence of their efficacy in treating health issues such as headaches, arthritis, acne and asthma. The use of MAPs is not only safe and cost effective, but it also helps protect the environment. The conservation and sustainable use of MAPs is essential for our health, as well as for the preservation of the ecosystem.
