Biography
Giuliana Giardino serves as Ricercatore a tempo determinato - Tipologia B at the Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria Federico II in Naples, Campania, Italy. Her research focuses on primary immunodeficiencies, including DiGeorge syndrome, severe combined immunodeficiency, and genetic disorders affecting immune function such as FOXN1 deficiency, STAT1 gain-of-function mutations, and NEMO/IKBKG defects. She has investigated the clinical and immunological features of immune dysregulation, exploring the intersection of ectodermal disorders and immunodeficiency, as well as complications following immunomodulatory therapies such as rituximab-induced hypogammaglobulinemia. Her most-cited work, "Clinical and immunological features in a cohort of patients with partial DiGeorge syndrome followed at a single center" (2019), has received 65 citations and exemplifies her contributions to understanding phenotypic variability in chromosomal deletion syndromes.
