Overview

Anxiety disorders are a group of mental health conditions characterized by feelings of worry, fear, and unease that are overwhelming and difficult to control. These disorders can cause physical symptoms such as heart palpitations, sweating, and trembling. If left untreated, anxiety disorders can significantly impair daily functioning and overall quality of life. Fortunately, anxiety disorders can be successfully treated through cognitive-behavioral therapy and medications such as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). With these treatments, individuals can learn to manage their anxiety and lead more fulfilling lives.
