Overview
Steroids are a class of organic compounds that have a wide range of biological functions. Their most important role is to act as hormones. Steroids are used by the body to regulate many aspects of body physiology, such as metabolism, growth, and immunity. In addition to this, steroids can be used for medical purposes, such as for the treatment of asthma, arthritis, and autoimmune diseases. In athletes, steroids are used to promote muscle gain and improve physical performance. Due to their ability to alter body physiology, steroids should be used with caution and under the supervision of a physician.
