Journal of Clinical Case Reports and Images

Membership

Optional membership arrangements for clinicians, researchers, students and organizations publishing documented human clinical cases and clinically meaningful images.

Membership is not required to read the journal or submit a manuscript. Membership arrangements are separate from manuscript assessment and editorial decisions.

Membership arrangements

The membership team handles individual and organizational inquiries. Identify the relevant category when requesting terms for JCCI.

Individual researcher
For clinicians, faculty members and independent researchers inquiring about an individual arrangement.
Student
For students inquiring about membership in connection with their clinical or academic training. The membership team can explain the applicable eligibility and supporting-document requirements.
Institutional
For universities, hospitals, research institutes and libraries arranging publishing support for affiliated authors.
Corporate or industry
For healthcare, pharmaceutical and biotechnology organizations inquiring about support for eligible case-based clinical submissions. Authorship, competing-interest and patient-protection requirements remain applicable.

Fees, duration and publication coverage

A membership fee is distinct from the article processing charge for an accepted manuscript. Request the applicable membership fee, duration, eligible authors, publication coverage and any article allowance in writing before enrollment.

For renewals or changes to an existing arrangement, provide the membership reference and ask the membership team to confirm the effective dates, applicable terms and treatment of any unused allowance.

The JCCI article processing charges page sets out the regular and student or trainee APCs, invoicing and withdrawal terms. The APC is invoiced only after editorial acceptance.

Partial waivers or discounts may be considered case by case against documented circumstances and available support. They are not automatic or guaranteed. Contact the editorial office for fee-relief inquiries and the applicable terms.

Editorial independence

Editorial decisions are based on scope, scientific quality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, reporting quality, and relevance to the journal.

Membership confers no advantage in the review or acceptance of a member's own manuscripts. Membership and payment status do not affect editor assignment, reviewer selection, review speed or the editorial decision.

Peer review

Single-blind by default; double-blind review is available on request. Manuscripts that proceed to external peer review are normally evaluated by at least two independent subject-matter experts.

JCCI accepts Case Reports, Clinical Images, Case Series and Technical Notes anchored to documented patient care. Membership does not alter the journal's Aims & Scope, reporting requirements, consent requirements or Editorial Policies.
