Overview
Body weight is the measure of a person's mass. It is an important indicator of overall health and is used to calculate body mass index (BMI). BMI is used to assess the risk of developing chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and certain cancers, as well as to guide healthcare providers in prescribing proper nutrition, exercise, and other lifestyle interventions. Monitoring body weight over time can also provide insight into physical and mental wellbeing.
