Overview

of fish Schools of fish are a common phenomenon in many aquatic ecosystems. They are an important part of the food web and help maintain healthy populations of fish and other organism in the area. Schools of fish have several advantages over individual fish – they can outmaneuver predators, increase their foraging efficiency, reduce competition for resources, and increase their overall visual appearance. Schools of fish are also known to improve their odds in certain situations, such as when they are caught in a large school of other fish. Schools of fish may also provide habitats for other species, acting as nurseries and refuges in some areas.
